New Mexico head coach Joe Franklin recaps the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational, the first indoor track and field meet held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in 682 days, since the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA Division 1 championship meet March 12, 2020. Franklin shares how the banked 200-meter track and infield straightaway are among the fastest in the world, and also explains the logistics of the throwing cage being relocated, along with the addition of a warmup straightaway track for athletes to use for practice.
